Job summary

We are inviting applications for the role of Antenatal and newborn Screening Specialist Midwife to join the Screening team within the Womens CSU. The ANNB Screening lead midwife will work within a team of Midwives and Failsafe officers across both hospital sites, at Leeds General Infirmary and St James Hospital.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a candidate that displays clinical leadership skills and knowledge of ANNB Screening programmes, with an ability to provide regular reports regarding KPIs as set by NHS England. An ability to implement new and National ANNB screening standards recommendations and pathways. An understanding of the importance to develop relationships and liaise with Screening and diagnostic laboratories, fetal medicine team, NHSE Screening Quality team and child health information services on behalf of the trust. An ability to report and investigate ANNB screening incidents including SIAF and RCA reports. Please see the attached job description for further information about this vacancy.

Job Summary

We are inviting applications for the role of Antenatal and newborn Screening Specialist Midwife to join the Screening team within the Women’s CSU.   • Current NMC Registration

  • Undertaken Genetic Counselling Course (KCL course)

Special Knowledge including experience

Essential

  • Post registration experience in the NHS
  • Experience of working within the ANNB screening service and delivering unexpected news.
  • Experience of bereavement care.
  • Participation in audit
  • Participation in service development
