Main duties of the job

As a Laundry Assistant at Akari Care in Parbold, your primary goal is to positively impact the lives of elderly residents by providing high-quality laundry services. The position requires 20 hours of work per week. Your role involves collaborating with the Housekeeper and domestic staff to ensure seamless laundry operations within the care home. Expect to handle all laundering tasks meticulously, including minor repairs to residents' clothing, emphasizing respect for individual needs. Maintaining a consistently clean and tidy laundry room is essential. Moreover, all equipment must be kept clean and well-maintained. Mindfulness towards residents' religious and cultural backgrounds and maintaining personalized service are crucial. Methodically ensure that the laundry room is permanently clean and tidy, and that all equipment is clean and well maintained alongside imparting your knowledge to all other colleagues to ensure they adhere to the same high standards.

Whilst you will be involved in all the practical duties you would expect in a busy care home laundry environment it is important to be mindful of and conscious to individual religious and cultural backgrounds. To be continuously aware of how these needs might impact our residents alongside making sure they all feel that they have a personalised service.
