An opportunity has arisen in the Department of Cellular Pathology for an administration assistant to work across both the Histology laboratory and office to support the Biomedical Science Staff and the Medical Secretaries with booking in, archiving, keeping accurate records and other basic administration tasks essential to providing our service.
This job requires someone who is flexible and adaptable, who can work well under their own initiative as well as part of a team. They must have GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 / C or above (or equivalent), be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of using Excel for data entry. They must also be number literate as the role involves a great deal of filing of glass slides containing patient tissue into the archives, which make up part of the patients medical record and may require retrieving.
