We are looking to appoint a Higher Specialty Resident Doctor–level Fellowship, the post is to lead project(s) that strengthen ESHT’s urgent‑care front door. The Fellowship will focus on improving early assessment, streaming accuracy, and pathway utilisation across the Emergency Department (ED), Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), Extended Emergency Medicine Ambulatory Care (EEMAC), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and linked community services.
The Fellow will lead a targeted programme of work designed to align these services with national expectations, particularly the NHS England Model Emergency Department (Model ED) principles, by supporting earlier senior review, reducing unwarranted variation, and improving the consistency of referral and escalation practices.
