Main duties of the job

The role of a Kitchen Assistant at Avery Healthcare involves supporting the catering function in food preparation, maintaining a clean environment for safe production of beverages and meals, and ensuring high standards of hygiene and food handling. Responsibilities include understanding the principles of safe food handling, contributing to teamwork, advising on the supply and quality of items used in tasks, and respecting the dignity and individuality of residents. The ideal candidate must hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, demonstrate high personal hygiene standards, have knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, be an efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort, and exhibit a caring attitude towards residents. The position requires covering vacant shifts, working various shifts from Monday to Sunday between 07:30 and 20:00, and demands a commitment to the values of caring, supportiveness, honesty, respect, and accountability in all actions.
