An exciting opportunity is available for an IT Logistic Officer to join NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care (NHS GM) and its forward-thinking IT Asset Management Team. These are exciting times as the department looks to transform its operation to become one of the best performing Asset and Logistics departments within the NHS.
This role is essential in supporting the effective management of IT hardware assets across their full lifecycle. You will help ensure equipment is received, recorded, stored, distributed, and disposed of in a controlled and efficient manner, enabling frontline services to operate effectively.
The post holder will be primarily charged with ensuring the logistics function delivers services that meet and exceed expectations of service recipients.
**Please note the successful candidate will need to be 25 years or over with a Full clean UK driving license held for a minimum of 1 year**
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- - Process IT equipment goods-in and goods-out within the NHS GM warehouse - Prepare and dispatch hardware to customer sites - Support stock control, including monitoring and replenishing stock levels - Coordinate deliveries, collections and disposals of IT equipment - Undertake deliveries and collections across Greater Manchester in the NHS GM van. - Maintain accurate asset records using our IT Service Management systems - Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, couriers and customers - Assist with asset audits, data quality checks and warranty processes - Contribute to the continuous improvement of asset management processes
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills, attention to detail, and a working knowledge of computers for emails, Microsoft Office, IT Service Management systems and other requirements. Applicants must be able to lift, carry, handle and transport goods across sites, including driving a medium sized van, be trustworthy, reliable and able to handle confidential items. Applicants will be required to undertake any further training and Occupational Health assessments required for the role.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The IT Logistics Officer is responsible for the operation of the NHS GM IT warehouse and, as such, responsible for the processing of goods-in and goods-out, as well as organising the layout and appropriate storage of stock. This includes the identification of demand, processing and distribution of orders and the collection/disposal of assets in adherence to government set processes and guidelines.
Additionally, the IT Logistics Officer will assist the IT Asset Management Officers in administrative tasks relating to Asset Management, warranty claims and the cataloguing of items. This includes (but not exclusively) the preparation of daily hardware dispatches, the assignment of assets to customer's companies, locations and end users, and the processing of disposal, delivery and collection tasks. They will also be required to use the NHS GM van to deliver and collect equipment to and from customer sites as required. On site disposals as well as the weekly disposal from the warehouse are required to be managed and completed.
