We are thrilled to share we have a fantastic opportunity for an internal candidate to join our Adult Ability Team as a Specialist Neurological Occupational Therapist.

We are looking to recruit a highly skilled Occupational Therapist who will deliver high quality care and leadership as part of the team based in East Staffordshire.

The successful candidate will work within the Community across East Staffordshire, holding their own complex caseload, providing specialist therapeutic intervention to patients with progressive neurological conditions. You will work alongside Specialist Nurses, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language therapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants.

Regular managerial and peer supervision is in place to support the post holder’s development alongside protected CPD time. The post holders will be expected to have supervisory responsibilities and participate in evaluating the service, audit and research.

This role is for 30 hours per week. There may be consideration for some flexible working options in line with service requirements.

The post holders will be based across the whole of East Staffordshire. You will need to be flexible and able to travel to work in various locations across the Trust as the service requires.

Main duties of the job

As an Advanced Occupational Therapist, you will have a detailed professional and clinical knowledge.

As part of this role, you will be expected to be:

  • Skilled in the assessment of complex/specialist care/support needs and in the development, implementation and evaluation of care/support packages.
  • Have supervisory, training and leadership responsibilities and will have some responsibility for team performance and service developments/improvements.
  • Support and oversee excellent Occupational Therapy practice through mentorship and day to day guidance to team members and other professionals.
  • Promote and champion good practice in all Occupational Therapy provision including internal and external partnership working.
