We are seeking an experienced Digital and Data Executive to provide interim maternity leave cover. This post will be for one year.

As the Interim Chief Digital & Data Officer you will continue the leadership of the implementation of our Digital and Data strategy which is framed in supporting our organisation to achieve its vision as set out in our Organisational Strategy .

Our Organisational Strategy ‘More than a Hospital’ (2022-2030) sets a clear plan for improvements in healthcare and you have a role to play, in leading the Digital and Data teams, to ensure high quality, safe and effective, digital infrastructure and robust data security systems are embedded to support the delivery of world class-quality patient care and experience

Main duties of the job

You will engage with clinical and non-clinical colleagues fostering a digital culture, capability and vision to transform service delivery and ensure that the benefits and opportunities of digital and data driven transformation are realised.  Better never stops and we want to build on momentum created, to be at the forefront of innovation and realise the potential of digitalisation to deliver effective and efficient service provision. Digitally enabled pathways informed by data offer exciting opportunities to create a more connected, responsive and patient-centred healthcare system.

This role is a key component of our Executive Chief Officer team, accountable for UHCW performance and success – you will be a critical Board member, and we therefore seek someone who has operated at this level. Working alongside our Digital and Data Corporate Directors who will continue to lead operational business you will have a proven track record in the following:

  • Influence, drive and expertise in digitalisation strategy, complex information systems, advanced technology, governance, and Cyber Security to lead our digital/data functions and strategy.
  • Working at Executive-level of a large and complex organisation delivering digital innovation.
  • Developing complex business cases and investment strategies, worked across professional and organisational boundaries, and contributed to strategic decision making.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The core areas of focus the CDDO role are:

  • Deliver a digital/data strategy which aligns to existing Trust strategies and values, maximising digital innovation and research and development opportunities.
  • Provide clear assurance and governance framework are in place to ensure compliance with national NHS and statutory digital and data standards.
  • Provide visible leadership to the ICT and Digital and, Performance and Informatics and teams ensuring team growth and development aligned to future needs.
  • Create the conditions to have a data driven improvement culture where teams can use the most appropriate information to accelerate best practice and adoption by
  • using data to create quality information.
  • Lead engagement with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to build a digital culture, capability, and vision to transform service delivery for patients and staff.
  • Work closely with national, regional partners and networks to seek out technology and investment opportunities.
  • Proactively represent the Trust regionally and nationally being at the forefront of influencing national policy and regional delivery.
  • Lead and Chair the Trust Digital and Data Transformation Advisory Board.
  • Lead and Chair the Digital and Data Hospital Sub-Committee.
