As a key member of the team, you will play an essential part in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and professional day-to-day running of our legal function. You will work within the Legal Services Department and report to the Claims and Inquest Manager. You will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Legal Services Department, including the Head of Quality Compliance and Assurance, the Trust Solicitor and the wider Legal Services Department team. This includes maintaining databases of ex-gratia, clinical negligence, inquests and Court of Protection cases using DATIX, as well as collating documents for investigations and preparing court bundles.
You will provide high-quality support to the Head of Quality Compliance and Assurance, the Trust Solicitor and the Legal Services Department team, ensuring the effective handling of clinical negligence and personal injury claims. This includes ensuring the Trust’s interests are protected and that claims are managed efficiently and effectively in compliance with Pre-Action Protocols.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day handling of all ex-gratia claims, managing your own caseload of personal injury claims, and assisting with personal injury and clinical negligence claims. You will also support the coordination of the Trust’s involvement and attendance at Coroner’s Inquests, including coordinating pre-inquest meetings and liaising with the Coroner’s Court.
