Main duties of the job

What You Will Do

  • Deliver therapy assessments and interventions to individuals and groups, using therapeutic handling and assessment skills.
  • Support patient rehabilitation programmes and adapt treatments within defined guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and the wider MDT, often about complex or sensitive information.
  • Manage your own caseload, prioritising effectively to support service delivery.
  • Support the induction of new staff, students and colleagues.
  • Complete occasional access visits to patients homes to support safe discharge from hospital.
  • Occasionally support our other inpatient therapy teams, such as Rutland ward, which is 20 minutes drive from site.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in a health care setting, ideally within a therapy role.
  • Holds Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Has either already completed AP training [or equivalent] or willing to complete a 2-year foundation degree once in post.
  • Is compassionate, adaptable, and able to support patients with complex health needs.
  • Able to drive and has access to a vehicle for work.
