The Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Secretary provides high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the Infection Prevention & Control Team, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of services across East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
This is a varied and pivotal role within a busy, dynamic environment, supporting the day-to-day operations of the IPC service. Key responsibilities include diary management, coordination of meetings, minute taking, and the preparation of reports, presentations, and correspondence. The post holder will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical teams, microbiology services, general practitioners, patients, and external partners.
The role requires the handling of sensitive and confidential information, including infection surveillance data and patient-related records, ensuring accuracy, discretion, and compliance with data protection and governance standards.
The IPC Secretary also supports service delivery by coordinating training programmes, audits, meetings, and key initiatives such as the Infection Control Link Programme. The post holder will contribute to the monitoring and reporting of service activity, maintain databases, and assist in the organisation of events, study days, and educational activities that promote infection prevention and control across the Trust.

Working both independently and as part of a wider administrative team, the post holder will provide flexible support, including cross-cover where required, to ensure a responsive and high-quality service.
