
The Imaging Department at the world renowned Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) is recruiting.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who would like to join the Imaging Portering team.
The team of Porters is a busy and essential part of the Imaging Department, working alongside a multidisciplinary team and working directly to ensure a high standard of patient care. The Porters are often the first staff to greet and care for patients who need to be seen within the department.
You will be required to undertake a range of portering duties within the imaging department, which includes transporting patients to and from departments such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound and X-ray; working flexibly in line with the needs of the service.
To undertake Portering duties within the Imaging Department which includes transporting patients to and from departments such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound and General Imaging.
Welcome and transport patients in beds and chairs to and from the Imaging Department in a friendly and safe manner whilst maintaining the privacy and dignity of all patients at all times.
To coordinate the transport of patients to and from the Imaging department for their examination using the computerised CARPS radio booking system.
Communicate effectively with Radiographers, Technicians, Radiologists and Reception staff to ensure all appointments, examinations and results coordinated efficiently.
Communicate with the wards, clinics, Clinicians, imaging department and staff to ensure patients arrive in the department with the appropriate equipment and documentation.
Use the bed mover equipment in a safe and appropriate manner and report faults and breakdowns to senior staff as soon as they occur.
