Job overview

The IT department delivers an IT service that encompasses the whole of BWC. 6,000 employees, working from various premises, spread across a multitude of service departments. In addition, services are delivered regionally encompassing NHS England and the ICS. IT services provided includes: To ensure the smooth running and maintenance of the Trust’s corporate servers. To ensure all applications on servers are installed correctly and regularly maintained. Support other ICT third line duties as directed by the ICT Infrastructure Manager To direct users on the use of ICT empowering skills and knowledge. To maintain and update personal skills and knowledge to benefit the Trust. To promote the correct use of ICT policies Participate in the ICT Server Operations On Call service

Main duties of the job

Resolve incidents and complete service requests relating to all aspects of IT infrastructure in accordance with defined processes and service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Monitor changes in IT infrastructure threats and appropriately respond to changes in threat profile.

Monitor IT infrastructure services, systems and related infrastructure to ensure interruptions to service are kept to a minimum.

Identify and address any issue or problems in applications, infrastructure, services, software and systems

Provide specialist advice and guidance across network, security, server, and firewalls infrastructures.

Provide technical guidance and support to Trust employees on the use and interpretation of

the information security management system policies and standards applicable to the use of IT.

Assist with investigations into potential and reported misuse of the Trust IT facilities.

Provide advice and updates to managers and human resource teams, ensuring that the correct investigation procedures are adhered to, and that all documentation is recorded completely and accurately.

Perform technical IT infrastructure risk assessments on user requests for access to systems, use of new software or hardware facilities.
