You will be supported by a Senior Administrator and be expected to:-

  • Be able to prioritise work and able to work to clear deadlines
  • Be flexible to meet the needs of the service
  • Work weekends/Bank Holidays on a rota basis

We are a small team who engage in a positive and proactive manner.  We have a friendly, comfortable work area and are always willing to help out all teams and each other, when needed.

Main duties of the job

  • Carry out activities to support clinical triage of referrals for community care and track patients through care pathways across primary, secondary and acute settings.
  • Schedule visits to patients on behalf of Clinicians and Assistants using electronic systems where available.
  • To answer telephone calls as appropriate of the protocols of the service
  • Input and retrieve data using IT systems, ensuring that all information taken is recorded quickly and accurately
  • To communicate effectively and consistently both with colleagues and callers to the service whilst retaining the ability to remain calm in difficult situations
  • To prioritise calls requiring immediate attention of a clinician
  • Recognise and action needs of callers with referrals to most appropriate service
  • Prepare reports and letters in relation to patient care
  • Respond appropriately to enquiries from other services and patients, referring to other members of the team when necessary
  • Ensure adequate clinical and office supply stocks available for teams
  • To support the Practitioner of the Day with admin tasks
