An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a HR Manager into the HR Business Partner team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
You will be working closely with a variety of services, including Clinical Service Units, Estates & Facilities and Corporate Support Service departments to ensure the provision of a high-quality Employee Relations service for all our managers. You will be responsible for providing expert, professional advice to a range of Managers and Senior Leaders on all HR and People matters, including complex and sensitive employee relations cases, sickness absence and queries relating to Trust policies and procedures.
The postholder will also support the Clinical Service Units (CSU’s) / Departments on areas such as change management or other service development initiatives to advise on the consultation and negotiation processes with relevant Trade Union/Professional Association representatives and affected employees. They will also manage designated HR Officers within the team and work with the HRBP’s in supporting the CSUs in staff engagement, staff well-being, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and in working towards the Trust achieving a Just and Learning Culture.
You need to have significant HR experience of working in a complex unionised environment and have experience in handling complex and sensitive case work. You will be degree level educated (or equivalent) and hold a CIPD Level 7 qualification. You will also be able to demonstrate delivering advice to managers with confidence in line with organisation policy and case law. Previous NHS experience is not essential.
Main duties of the job
Development of workforce and local service plans, advising on workforce requirements and planning needs and identifying trends and changes.
Change management, consultation and negotiation with relevant Trade Union/Professional Association representatives and employees affected.
Manage the HR Officers to maintain an overview and awareness of issues
Support in tackling people issues such as absence management, vacancy and turnover figures, service improvement, and development to ensure that employee deployment is aligned to service needs for effective service delivery.
Professional advice and guidance on a range of employee relations issues, presentation of management cases at formal hearings and appeals and providing support.
Work with managers in monitoring and analysing workforce information and data to ensure effective and efficient use of resources.
Advice managers and employees on the interpretation of HR policies, procedures, terms and conditions of employment and relevant employment law.
Advise on, analyse/match/evaluate Job Descriptions in accordance with the Agenda for Change Job Evaluation Scheme.
Design and deliver training and briefing sessions for managers and employees.
Contribute to and participate in the wider HR agenda as appropriate.
To undertake reviews or particular project work which may include involvement in policy review/development, and associated duties related to this as delegated by the Assistant Director of HR.
