Housekeeping Assistant
14 hours per week
AFC Band 2 (£24,305 to 26,392 pro rata)
2x 7 hour shifts, rotational over 7 days
Who are we?
St Andrew’s Hospice is a registered charity providing specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting conditions which require complex symptom management, and/or end-of-life care. It is Lanarkshire's specialist hospice and provides multidisciplinary support for patients, their families and carers. The service is provided completely free of charge for the adult population of North and South Lanarkshire and is open to all without distinction of race, gender or creed.
What is the role?
As a Housekeeping Assistant you will:
- Maintain a clean serene environment for patients and their families
- Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene standards are met
- Assist with laundry, cleaning and organising common areas
What we expect of you?
As a member of the Hospice team the post holder will be always uphold the values of the Hospice and be pro-active in attending to the needs of all patients, families and carers, ensuring. You will ensure that all care is patient led and focused on the needs of the individual. You will also have a keen interest in Palliative and End of Life Care
As a Housekeeping Assistant you will:
- Preferred previous housekeeping experience in health/public sector environment
- Have an understanding of the Principles of Health & Safety, Manual Handling, infection control and fire safety
- Compassionate and respectful attitude
- Ability to work in a healthcare environment with empathy and discretion
- Be able to work flexible shift patterns
