Main duties of the job

As a Housekeeper at The Spinney, you will join a dedicated team ensuring a clean and safe environment for male patients with personality disorders and/or mental illness. Your responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness across all areas such as wards, offices, bedrooms, and visitors areas. You will work closely with the maintenance team to uphold high cleaning standards while adhering to hospital security policies. The role involves being an active team member, maintaining good relationships, and contributing to a positive culture. You will get comprehensive training, with opportunities for career growth. The job demands previous cleaning experience in a similar environment, attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks. As a Housekeeper you will be:

• Maintaining required security standards of the hospital by following relevant policies and procedures as defined by the Hospital.
• An active member of the team with a range of responsibility over the day-to-day operation.
• Maintaining excellent telephone etiquette and ability to meet and greeting visitors in a professional manner.
• Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all staff, visitors and service users.
• Helping create a positive culture.
• Undertaking any other tasks requested that are appropriate for the post.
• Attending mandatory and statutory training on an annual basis as required by Elysium Healthcare.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have previous experience of cleaning within a similar environment
• Enjoy cleaning and get satisfaction from a job well done
• Prioritise duties and responsibilities effectively
• Be a good communicator
• Have good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness

You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team at The Spinney who have previously been recognised by the Association of Psychological Therapies (APT) for their ability to reinforce positive behaviour, prevention of challenging behaviour and successful interventions in a secure care setting
