An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated and friendly team in the Trauma and Orthopaedics ward D2 for Band 2 Housekeeper.

D2 ward is 18 bedded Trauma and Orthopaedic ward. We care for patient with a range of different Orthopaedic conditions and injuries. We have a strong focus on multidisciplinary team working, which helps to ensures a complete approach to patient centred care.

There are good opportunities for your continuing professional development within Hampshire Hospitals, and this will be supported and encouraged by the Clinical Matron and Senior Ward Sister's.

Previous experience in this area is not essential as in-house training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped to meet the demands of this role.

Main duties of the job

  • To ensure the bed space is prepared prior to patients arriving on the ward so that the area is safe and presentable to the patient i.e. checking the area has been cleaned and bed linen is clean and made.
  • Assist with the ordering and serving of patient meals to ensure all patients receive appropriate nutrition while on the ward.
  • Report any damaged/ faulty equipment to the works department and co-ordinate any maintenance work/requests for work to aid in the smooth running of the ward
  • Maintain ward stocks of linen by communicating with linen services to ensure appropriate levels of linen are available on the ward and ensure the linen received is of good quality and stored/disposed of in line with trust policies.
