We are recruiting for a Housekeeper who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The facility opened in October 2025 and aims to provide comprehensive kidney care to patients who have chronic kidney disease.

We are looking for a House Keeper to join with an experienced renal team who has extensive experience in developing workforce to manage renal units.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the newly created Strathmore Renal Unit at Lister Hospital.

The East and North Herts NHS Teaching Trust has a proven track record of successfully developing and managing Renal Dialysis Units at Stevenage, St Albans, Bedford, Luton and Harlow (PAH).  Spanning over three decades, our experience in dialysis, innovative research and treatment concepts has earned us national and international recognition.

The Strathmore Renal Unit is providing an environment with state-of-the-art IT systems and equipment.  Post holders will be trained in the delivery of high quality patient care in a dialysis setting.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as an integral part of the team.

They will be responsible for the co-ordination all patient facilities/services in the unit area and for ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

The main elements of the role are contributing to a positive patient experience, ensuring the delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patient needs, as determined by the ward manager.

The post holder will be required to work closely with contractors and support services departments.

They will assist in the monitoring of quality standards and be key in ensuring deficiencies are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
