To support the Facilities (Hotel Services) team in delivering Housekeeping and Catering services to the National Standards for these services in NHS Wales, HIW standard 5 and 9 and Organisational Standards.
To assist in developing, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of service delivery and team working practices; and helping to maintain open, effective communication.
We have 1 x 20 hour fixed term positions available for a Hotel Services Assistant position that have arisen at Prince Charles Hospital.
This post is a fixed term/secondment for 6 months due to service change. If you are interested in applying for it as a secondment, please obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to work within a restaurant environment and previous experience within this area of retail would be an asset.
The main duties of the post include the delivery of catering service within our Coffee Shop at Prince Charles Hospital in accordance with departmental schedules and specifications and in line with all cleanliness and legislative requirements that govern the delivery of the Catering Service such as Food Safety Act 1990, Food Hygiene (Wales) Legislation 2006, Food Handling policies and procedures, COSHH and HACCP procedures.
Flexibility is essential and the successful candidates will be expected to adapt to service pressures and modernization. Also the successful candidates would need to be flexible with regard to movement throughout all Health Board sites. The successful candidates must observe and maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene, confidentiality, courtesy and consideration to all patients and fellow employees.

This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
