Main duties of the job

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Midwifery Care: Provide care across all stages of pregnancy, intrapartum, and postnatal periods for a caseload of women.
  • Promote Birth Choices: Actively support and facilitate homebirth, DOMINO, and birth centre care options for women.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe and high-standard care for mothers and babies.
  • Skill Development: Continuously develop and maintain midwifery skills in line with best practices.
  • Role Development: Contribute to the development of midwifery practice and the introduction of new roles within the service.
  • Drug Administration: Safely manage and administer medications in accordance with Trust policies and statutory regulations.
