
The post holder is a valued team member of the Adult Learning Disabilities Speech and Language Therapy Teams working in Partnership with Tees, Esk and Wear Valley (TEWV) Learning disability multidisciplinary Teams. This includes providing clinical support to the Speech & Language Therapy Team and supervision to a Speech and Language Therapy Assistants as necessary.
The successful applicant will work alongside a team of health care professionals including speech & language therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, LD nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, and health care assistants. The caseload is varied and intervention is completed as part of a multi-disciplinary team, committed to collaborative working and focusing on the provision of a high quality, evidence based service.
This post is primarily Clinical but may present an opportunity for team leadership for the right applicant if desired. (60% Clinical / 40% Team Lead)
The post holder will provide leadership of a team of Speech & Language Therapists and support staff who provide services to adults with learning within the North Yorkshire localities. Service wide planning, delivery, redesign and performance management intentions will be defined by the Head of Service however the post holder will lead on the implementation of actions relating to these within their identified team.
The post holder will also maintain a clinical responsibility to provide advanced assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to clients with communication and eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties who may have diverse and complex presentations.
The post holder will demonstrate confident leadership, management, and arbitration of ethical dilemmas, providing guidance and opportunities for the professional development of others.
