Job overview

The Adult Community Rehabilitation Team provides rehabilitation for adults aged 18+ across City and Hackney. We deliver high-quality, person-centred care that supports people to maximise independence, achieve meaningful goals and improve their quality of life within their local communities.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our Physical Conditions pathway. The role offers the opportunity to provide specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for adults with complex physical health conditions.

Working closely with Band 7 colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical leadership, contribute to service improvement and quality improvement initiatives, and support the development of innovative rehabilitation pathways. You will also supervise junior staff and students and work with service leads.

Applicants should have substantial community rehabilitation experience, excellent clinical and communication skills, experience of multidisciplinary working, strong leadership qualities and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

  • Senior member of the specialist interdisciplinary Adult Community Rehabilitation Team which includes Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Rehabilitation Assistants and administrators support the team. The team works with clients aged 16 onwards with complex physical disabilities (including palliative, HIV and clients with mental health issues).
  • Lead, manage and co-ordinate the provision of the Physiotherapy service within the Adult Community Rehabilitation Team.
  • Undertake highly specialist physiotherapy assessment and intervention as an autonomous practitioner.
  • The post holder will be working in a challenging socioeconomic environment involving clients who have highly complex social problems and those from culturally diverse backgrounds.
