Job summary

You'll work closely with patients, their families and carers, playing a vital part in ensuring everyone who uses our services has a positive and supportive experience. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you'll work alongside nurses, activity coordinators, social workers and occupational therapists, offering you a unique chance to learn from different specialties every day.

If you are new to Health Care we will place you on a HCSW induction programme to ensure that you are fully trained and supported to perform the role. The programme will last for up to 6 months and during this period of training you will be paid a salary of 25,272. On completion of your training period your salary will rise to 25760 as per the advert.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for Healthcare support workers across our mental health services;

Parklands & Melbury lodge-adult mental health wards including older person mental health in Basingstoke & Winchester.

Children and adolescent mental health(CAMHS) inpatient wards; Bluebird, Austen and Serenity across Tatchbury Mount and Winchester.

The Orchards in Southsea, Portsmouth including our older person mental health in Brooker and Elmleigh in Havant.

You will assist and support qualified staff, carrying out assigned tasks as directed, without supervision. This will include housekeeping duties where required.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills, using them to engage, persuade or negotiate with clients with complex or challenging needs to ensure they receive the most appropriate care and support.
