We are seeking Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW) to commence on Lowton ward, a medical assessment unit.
We are recruiting to a 2 x 36 hour per week posts and 1 x 23.5 hour per week posts. Shifts will be based on a rota pattern Monday - Sunday including days and nights.
One of the 36 hour per week roles we are appointing to is a temporary post for 12 months to provide secondment cover. NHS Employees will need to obtain secondment approval from their current manager if appointed to this post and this will be a condition of any offer made. Whilst this post is advertised on a fixed term / secondment basis there is the potential that this post may become permanent in the future.

Main duties of the job
Your role as a Healthcare Support Worker is to support our Nursing teams deliver the best care possible to our patients and contribute to the smooth running of our wards and departments.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Assist patients with the provision of washing, dressing, personal care, beverages and/or meals.
- Assist qualified nursing and medical staff where requested.
- Communicate with all members of the team to maintain a good service provision.
- Ensure that all patients are able to meet their hygiene needs, providing a level of assistance appropriate to the individual.
- Prepare and support the patient appropriately during any activity that is to be undertaken.
- Alert the registered nurse where you notice any changes in the patient’s health and well-being or any possible risks.
- Ensure effective use of material resources/supplies within the ward/unit in consultation with senior staff.
- Assist with the general cleaning and re-stocking of resources where appropriate as well as cleaning and preparing patients beds.
- Contribute to own personal development and take an active part in learning opportunities.
