Job overview

The  Healthcare Support Worker will offer nursing, phlebotomy, administrative and general clinical assistance to the Sexual Health & HIV team.

The HSW will liaise closely with and report directly to the Lead Nurses for Sexual Health. The HSW will work under the direct supervision of a first level registered nurse with guidelines and protocols.

Please Note:

We are currently unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants who already hold a visa that allows them to work in the UK are welcome to apply. However, the Trust will not be able to offer sponsorship once that visa expires. For induction, training and operational reasons, applicants must also have at least 12 months remaining on their visa at the start of employment.

Main duties of the job

Knowledge of HIV

  • To have an appropriate knowledge of HIV, and the treatment and management of this condition.
  • To promote a sensitive and caring approach to patient, visitors and colleagues.
  • To ensure communications with patients and their relatives are supportive and informative with due regard to confidentiality.
  • Refer on to medical team any significant clinical issue

To be a part of the sexual health care team, providing high quality holistic care to clients accessing sexual health, contraceptive and reproductive healthcare services.

To provide clinical and clerical support within the sexual health team
