We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant with recent Operating Theatre experience to join our busy multi speciality Community Day Surgery Unit in Wimborne, Dorset.
The role will be to work within the Operating Theatre to prepare and assist the trained staff during the operating list with the care of the patients. Including working within the recovery area of the department to support the trained staff.
The successful candidate may be required to work at University Hospitals Dorset.

Main duties of the job
To assist qualified nursing staff in providing a consistently high standard of patient centred care, following policies and guidelines.
To work and act as a key member of the team, supporting each patient during their stay with the Theatre and the Day Surgery Unit.
Undertake clinical work and related tasks as delegated by qualified nursing staff, following appropriate training and assessment of competency e.g.: removal of intravenous cannula, phlebotomy and performing ECGs.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
