Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Worker at Barnet Lane Clinic in Borehamwood, you will be part of a supportive and friendly team that makes a positive difference in the lives of individuals with complex needs. Your responsibilities will include providing care to facilitate the recovery and well-being of patients, participating in ward rounds, and adapting care based on analyzed behaviors. This role requires resilience, compassion, and a positive attitude, as you will be working in a challenging yet rewarding environment. Work hours are 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week, including nights and weekends, totaling 37.5 hours a week. You will support adults with complex needs who require a tailored, long-term recovery approach. A clinical background in treating individuals with autism, complex mental health needs, and personality disorders is necessary for this role.

What you will be doing

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends. 37.5 hours a week.

Barnet Lane’s Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS) is a highly specialised, bespoke inpatient adult service designed to support individuals whose needs exceed the scope of traditional inpatient service models. The service specialises in treating patients who have experienced multiple or prolonged admissions, stalled discharge pathways, or who have been unable to progress within conventional care environments.
