Priory Hospital Cardiff is looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours a week. The shifts are 12 hours on a rota basis to include nights, weekends and bank holidays. Shift times would be: Day Shift = 07:30 > 19:45 Night Shift = 19:30 > 07:45 Staff will work a set shift pattern, such as: Week 1 = Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday Week 2 = Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. Located just a few miles outside Cardiff, South Wales, Priory Hospital Cardiff supports the NHS by offering low secure services for males and females with a personality disorder, a learning disability or a mental health diagnosis. Care is provided across three bespoke therapeutic placements (BTPs), each offering specialist, tailored treatment in the least restrictive environment possible.
What you'll be doing
- Assists qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
- Provides practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
- Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
