Job summary

Long Stratton Medical Partnership are looking to welcome an experienced Healthcare Assistant to their clinical nursing team on a part-time basis for 24 hours per week. This will be worked over 3 or 4 days per week and is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing screening and monitoring services for the patient population
  • ECG recording
  • NHS health checks
  • 24 hour blood pressure monitoring
  • Phlebotomy
  • Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
  • Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Overseeing surgical equipment, vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
  • Support PNs in management of diabetic follow-up and pre-diabetic recall

Long Stratton is a small town in South Norfolk, 10 miles from the historic city of Norwich. We have 11,500 patients on our list, a CQC rating of Good and operate from both our main site and a branch site in Newton Flotman. We are also a dispensing Practice with a dispensing list of around 5,500 patients. We use SystmOne and run cloud-based telephony which links seamlessly with the clinical system and provides excellent functionality. We have completed our surgery expansion work with a new wing being added to include 7 clinical rooms. The reason for the expansion is that Long Stratton is being bypassed, 2,000 new homes are planned and therefore potentially 5,000-6,000 new patients will be joining us.
