We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care Team at HMP Lindholme which is a Category C/D male prison near Hatfield Woodhouse in Yorkshire.
Hours
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week.
Salary
The salary is up to £29,723 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings
- Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc
- Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages
- Support the nursing team with all aspects of care
- Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
- Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients
- You will primarily be working within the PRIMARY CARE / MENTAL HEALTH / SUBSTANCE MISUSE team, although may be required to carry out duties in the PRIMARY CARE / MENTAL HEALTH / SUBSTANCE MISUSE teams.

- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or Care Certificate
- Have experience within phlebotomy - this is highly desirable!
- Have experience in a clinical care setting previously - ideally from a hospital or prison setting
- Have clinical experience - venepuncture, ECGs etc
- Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
