Main duties of the job

The role of a Healthcare Assistant at Elysium Healthcare is both challenging and rewarding. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be part of a team that provides essential care and support to individuals with Eating Disorders. Your responsibilities will include participating in ward rounds, analyzing patient behaviors, and adapting care strategies accordingly with your colleagues. You will also be responsible for updating patient records and assisting with personal hygiene where necessary. The working environment can sometimes be challenging, but it is immensely fulfilling to see the positive changes in patients' lives resulting from your involvement. What you will be doing

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

The shift pattern is 3-4 days a week including weekends. 7:30am to 8pm day shift and 7:30pm to 8am night shift. 37.5 hours per week. The shift available are Night Only & 2 Weeks Days, 2 Weeks Nights on rotation.

Where you will be working

Location: New Church Road Hove BN3 4FH

Brighton & Hove Clinic provides a Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) Tier 4 Eating Disorder service for young people aged 12 up to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of eating disorder; or an eating difficulty with a co-morbid presentation for example mental health or psychological issues, such as depression, OCD or anxiety or self-harm.
