We are looking for a caring and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our Theatre and PACU (Recovery) team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting patients through their surgical journey.
Working as part of a friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team, youll deliver high-quality patient care across both theatre and recovery, ensuring every patient feels safe, respected, and well cared for at every stage.
This is a 37.5-hour per week position, with no night shifts or 12-hour shifts. You'll work a flexible rota of either:
- 5 days per week (7.5-hour shifts), or
- 4 days per week (3 x 9.5-hour shifts and 1 x 9-hour shift)

Main duties of the job
As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will:
- Provide compassionate care to patients before, during, and after surgery
- Assist qualified staff within both theatres and recovery, ensuring patients feel safe and reassured at every stage.
- Take and record vital signs, support with wound dressings, venepuncture (after training), and assist during anaesthesia induction.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised clinical environment.
- Handle patient documentation and maintain accurate, confidential records.
- Welcome and support patients and their families, communicating clearly and sensitively.
- Participate in training and development to grow your knowledge and skills.

- NVQ Level 3 in Care/Promoting Independence, experience in elective surgery, or knowledge of care pathways - desirable but not essential
