As a Healthcare Assistant at Marie Curie Newcastle Hospice, youll provide compassionate, person centred care to patients with life limiting illnesses and support their families when they need it most. Working on our Inpatients Unit, youll play a vital role in delivering high quality end of life care from personal care and symptom monitoring to medication support, record keeping, and emotional reassurance. We are currently recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to join the Inpatients Unit at our Outstanding CQC rated hospice in Newcastle
Salary:Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale (aligned with AFC) Band 2 £25,272 per annum + enhancements (pro rata)
Hours/Contract:Full Time (Days 7.30 am 8 pm, Nights 7.30 pm 8 am)

As a Healthcare Assistant with Marie Curie at Newcastle Hospice Inpatients Unit, you'll provide compassionate support to patients and families when they need it most. We deliver specialist palliative care to people living with a life-limiting illness, while also offering essential emotional support to their loved ones.
With experience in end-of-life care, you'll be ready to make a meaningful difference every day. Working as part of our dedicated team, you'll provide high-quality, person-centred care in line with each patients individual care plan. Your role will include supporting with personal care and hygiene needs, monitoring symptoms, assisting with medication, maintaining accurate records, and offering emotional reassurance to both patients and their families.
What were looking for:
- NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma is required
- Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support
- Recent experience of providing care and caring for people with life limiting illness or palliative care needs in a health/social care setting
