The role:
This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa routes.
All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the OPAT service as a health care support worker. The Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) service provides appropriate admission avoidance and early and supported discharge to patients who require Intravenous antibiotics. Target areas are: Accident and Emergency, General Practitioners, various wards and outpatient clinics. You will be based in Glasgow with the post spanning across GG & C, with bases across various hospital sites. Service Monday to Sunday as the service requires As a member of the OPAT Team you will be working alongside the OPAT clinical nurse specialists and supporting their work in the clinic and are responsible for ensuring a high standard of care to patients with complex infections.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
These are 2x permanent, part-time posts of 18 hours per week.
Please note that salary is Pro Rata for part-time posts.
The successful candidate can be based at any of the OPAT clinics across, Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
The shift pattern is variable; Monday – Sunday 8am – 4pm to meet service requirements.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Training is provided to enable the Senior HCSW to comply with the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland 2009; and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers, both as amended from time to time.
SVQ 3 qualification or equivalent knowledge gained in a relevant area through experience, on the job training and short courses.
Understands and complies with HCSW mandatory induction standards and code of conduct.
