We are seeking motivated and compassionate Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs) to join our team and support the delivery of the Our Future Health programme within mobile clinic settings. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's largest health research initiatives while delivering a safe, efficient and participant-focused service.

As a Health Care Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting clinical assessments, ensuring a positive participant experience, and maintaining high standards of care, quality and safety. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help facilitate the smooth operation of mobile clinics and support participants throughout their research journey.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the delivery of the Our Future Health programme within mobile clinic settings, ensuring participants receive a safe, professional and high-quality service.

  • Undertake clinical assessments including blood pressure, pulse, height, weight and waist measurements.
  • Perform venepuncture and collect blood samples in line with clinical protocols.
  • Monitor participant wellbeing and escalate concerns to the appropriate clinician.
  • Prepare, label, store and package biological samples accurately.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and follow established procedures.
  • Support the efficient flow of participants through the mobile clinic.
  • Provide operational and administrative support for clinic activities.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment, clinical areas and consumables.
  • Assist with participant enquiries and documentation as required.
  • Report incidents, accidents and near misses in line with organisational policy, including Datix reporting where appropriate.
  • Contribute to audits, investigations and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to relevant policies, procedures, confidentiality and information governance standards.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety, infection prevention and safeguarding requirements.

Pay Rates

HCA Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland

Monday - Friday - £19 per hour

Sunday - £26 per hour

HCA England

Monday - Friday - £20 per hour

Saturday - £25 per hour

Sunday - £28 per hour
