Join our award-winning NHS Trust and lead the way for trying new and better ways of working to help improve life for our local communities.

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join the Health and Justice Reconnect team as a Health and Justice Support, Time, Recovery Worker (STR) based in Sussex.

The Sussex Reconnect Team have gained a fantastic opportunity to develop a Reconnect Service within the Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) in Gatwick. Through this you will be supporting people to prepare for their release from the IRC and to reconnect to the necessary health services they need following their release. In addition, the role may include visits to HMP Lewes, HMP Ford as well as supporting Service Users in the community.

The Health and Justice services identify people who have substance misuse, mental health, learning disability or other vulnerabilities when they first come onto contact with the criminal justice system or Immigration Removal Centre. We look to identify unmet need and vulnerabilities that often lead to or exacerbate offending behaviour, offer onward referral and signposting as appropriate. We liaise across agencies to support onward planning and intervention to address identified needs.

This is an 'all age' service, and you will be required to work with people from the age of 10 years plus.

You will also be expected to travel over a large geographical location to support the requirements of the role.
