Main duties of the job

Clinical

The post-holder will provide a weekly clinic within the Oxford Community Headache Clinic, assessing and managing adults referred with primary and secondary headache disorders. • Recognise and appropriately triage patients with features suggestive of secondary headache or 'red flag' symptoms, escalating to the supervising Consultant Neurologist and arranging timely investigation or referral as required.
  • Initiate, titrate and review acute and preventive headache treatments, including lifestyle advice, oral preventives and, where the service permits and competencies are held, specialist therapies (e.g. greater occipital nerve blocks, referral for CGRP-targeted therapies or botulinum toxin).
