Main duties of the job

  • Provide strategic leadership for service development and improvement, including workforce planning, service redesign, modernisation, change management, business planning, and the implementation of Health Board and national priorities.
  • Manage people, resources, and performance, including budget management, financial governance, staff leadership, recruitment, training, appraisal, risk management, quality improvement, and performance monitoring.
  • Provide expert professional and clinical leadership, maintaining a specialist clinical role while working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop services, improve outcomes, support innovation, and ensure compliance with professional and organisational standards.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will lead the podiatry and orthotics service in North East Wales. Across all clinical services and age groups.

You will work with a broad multi disciplinary team.

You will work closely with other AHP colleagues in an established service

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Essential

  • BSc / Dip Grad in Podiatry/Orthotics.
  • Management course.
  • HCPC registered. •
  • MSc or equivalent level of knowledge.
  • Proven organisational skills including prioritisation.

Experience

Essential

  • • Health and safety risk awareness.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance.
  • • Understanding of professional ethics / code of conduct and their application in practice.
