ABOUT THE ROLE As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. We'll also need you to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team. Main duties of the job

This role is key to delivering first-class care and support by maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The role requires undertaking a variety of maintenance tasks within the care home, as well as in the gardens and grounds. Responsibilities include fixing appliances, planting new bulbs, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. Additionally, liaising with external contractors will be necessary for tasks beyond the team's expertise. Ensuring all work respects the needs of the residents is a priority. The ideal candidate should be hands-on with property maintenance experience, possess at least one trade skill, and ideally have the ability to carry out various maintenance tasks. The role demands reliability, flexibility in working hours, a full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.
