Main duties of the job

As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll be responsible for ensuring a clean and well-maintained environment, ensuring residents feel at home and staff can perform their duties effectively. The role involves a variety of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. Responsibilities include fixing issues such as leaky taps and garden maintenance. You will work both independently and as a team leader, supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning and liaising with contractors. Sensitivity to the residents' needs is crucial, and hands-on experience in property maintenance is required, with at least one trade skill. A full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent are required.
