Working closely with the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities and the Estates & Facilities Senior Management team, the Head of Capital Projects will contribute to ensuring that the corporate objectives of the Trusts are achieved with specific focus on the delivery of the trusts capital plan in relation to the estate.
As a key member of the department’s leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering the construction and minor works project plan across the estate as well as contributing to the Trusts vision for planning estate improvements across the next 5 years. This will include all strategic works across the owned and non-owned estate.
The role will be part of the Estates & Facilities Senior Management team that will lead and provide direction for the team, and work across the organization to improve the care of our service users and our operational and care services.
The post holder will be responsible and accountable for a compliant, professional, high quality, cost effective and efficient service to meet the demands of the organisation, its patients, and staff.
You will also support on all statutory returns such as Premises Assurance Model and Estates Return Information Collection providing a key contributor to data for both internal and external purposes.

Main duties of the job
Working within the Estates & Facilities Senior Management, local site directors, Team leaders, clinicians, senior managers, along with statutory bodies and external agencies, the post holder will:
- Contribute to ensuring that the corporate aims and vision of the Trusts are achieved.
- Actively show the agreed behaviors and values of the organisation and the team.
- Actively look at best practice across the organisation, NHS, and wider industries.
- To be accountable for monitoring, assessment, and reporting on the financial and non-financial performance of the Estates and Facilities Directorate.
- To be accountable for monitoring, assessment, and reporting on the performance of capital projects.
- Provide and promote effective professional leadership to ensure the management of a high quality service and quality management in delivering the capital plan.
- Responsible for identifying, investigating, and delivering strategic projects that will enhance the quality and value of services delivered by the Directorate or the Trust and deliver long-term benefits to the Trust.
- Providing strong leadership and robust performance management framework for all staff within scope of responsibility and manage appropriately a range of complex information systems
- A key member of the Directorate Management Team, contributing to the strategic and general management of the Directorate and ensuring Estates & Facilities strategies and policies are in place as necessary.

- Masters Degree, BSc (Hons) in relevant area such as construction, project management, quantity surveying
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development in a relevant area including professional registration (CIOB/RICS/IHEEM)
