We are looking for an ambitious Occupational Therapist to lead and develop OT provision within our specialist neurological rehabilitation service in Sheffield. Whether you are an experienced Band 7 or a strong Band 6 ready for your next step, we can offer structured support, specialist supervision and the opportunity to make a genuine impact on people's rehabilitation journeys.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work at The Daley Centre and will be the Head OT for this hospital. This is an opportunity to lead and develop occupational therapy within an evolving neurological rehabilitation service. You will have the autonomy to influence service development, embed evidence-based practice and help shape the future direction of rehabilitation at the Daley Centre. You will be play an essential role in supporting our patients to regain independence and quality of life.

The Daley Care Centre (Sheffield, S36 2QE) The Daley Care Centre is a specialist Neurological Complex Care service in Sheffield, dedicated to supporting individuals with high nursing needs, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and complex neurological conditions. Our dedicated team of Registered Nurses, Support Workers, and in-house therapists work together to deliver comprehensive care and support with measurable outcomes.

We support patients with:

  • Severe or moderate Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
  • Other neurological conditions, stroke, and spinal injuries
  • Neurodegenerative Conditions
  • Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness
  • Early or late post-injury, long-term, short-term, respite, and lifelong care
  • Tracheostomy and ventilator care
  • Can support individuals with some complex needs and behaviours (assessed on an individual basis)

Job responsibilities

This is an exciting time to join the The Daley Care Centre as we continue to develop and strengthen our occupational therapy provision within neurological rehabilitation. We are looking for an ambitious Occupational Therapist who is passionate about service development, clinical leadership, and delivering meaningful rehabilitation outcomes for individuals with complex neurological needs.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and influence the future direction of occupational therapy within the service, alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team and wider national occupational therapy directorate.

The Daley Care Centre features 24 spacious bedrooms, which the people we care for are encouraged to personalise, each with its own en-suite wet room. The Daley Care Centre has been recently refurbished with excellent on-site facilities, including a fully equipped modern gym for physiotherapy and occupational therapy sessions, an Independent Living Skills Kitchen to promote functional independence, and numerous dedicated therapy rooms.

The Daley Care Centre is located in the beautiful, tranquil countryside setting of Deepcar just 10 minutes outside of Sheffield city centre. It provides a warm, homely setting with all of the on-site equipment and facilities needed to offer complex medical care to individuals with a wide range of conditions

We ensure person-centred outcomes are maximised through inter-disciplinary working, whilst keeping the individual at the heart of their discharge planning.

There is a dedicated clinical team who provide multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapists, and nursing staff.

As part of our commitment to professional development, we are also pleased to offer funded SMART training (three- module programme) to support the successful candidate in developing specialist clinical knowledge and skills within neurological rehabilitation.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 185 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across Cygnet Healthcare, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
