ABOUT THE ROLE Your focus as Head Housekeeper will be to oversee the housekeeping and laundry cleaning service in support of the hospitality services function to ensure a high-quality and comprehensive care service is delivered to residents. Other responsibilities will include: Carrying out all cleaning duties as per the housekeeping job description. Preparing orders for Home Manager approval for all cleaning materials with approved suppliers whilst complying with procedures to maintain appropriate stock levels and control and ensuring good quality products are purchased within agreed budget limits.

Main duties of the job

The Head Housekeeper at Avery Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping and laundry cleaning service at Droitwich Mews Care Home in Worcestershire. This role supports the hospitality services function to ensure residents receive high-quality and comprehensive care. Responsibilities include conducting all cleaning duties as per the job description, preparing orders for cleaning materials for Home Manager approval, maintaining stock levels, controlling supplies, and ensuring purchased products meet quality standards within budget limits. The Head Housekeeper also monitors the work standards of the housekeeping and laundry team to maintain high cleanliness standards and supervises the team, providing instruction and demonstration to new staff. This position impacts residents' lives positively every day with compassion and dedication, contributing to the team's culture of respect, compassion, and exceptional care. Candidates should have experience in cleaning and managing laundry in public settings, knowledge of health and safety procedures, and demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Carrying out all cleaning duties as per the housekeeping job description.
• Preparing orders for Home Manager approval for all cleaning materials with approved suppliers whilst complying with procedures to maintain appropriate stock levels and control and ensuring good quality products are purchased within agreed budget limits.
• Monitoring standards of work of the housekeeping and laundry team to always maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Supervising and directing the work of the housekeeping team, providing instruction and demonstration to new staff on cleaning tasks and materials.

• Experience in cleaning and managing laundry in a public setting.
• Knowledge of health and safety, particularly moving and handling techniques, fire safety, and COSHH assessments.

• Demonstrate the ability to lead, supervise and develop teams.
