GP Locum - North Glen Medical PracticeGP Locum colleague sought for a friendly and welcoming practiceSessions: 4 – 6 sessions per weekInitially Fixed Term: 3 - 4 sessions per week

North Glen Medical Practice is expanding and as such, we would like to welcome a locum GP to the team for a period of 3 to 4 months initially covering 4 – 6 sessions per week.

We are looking to expand our team with a view to improving both access to care and GP workload in line with BMA guidance. Our practice is located in the north of Glenrothes, with easy commuting links from across Fife, Perth & Kinross, Dundee and Edinburgh. We currently have 4 GP partners and 2 salaried GPs serving a patient population of approximately 8,900 patients. We use EMIS and Docman as our clinical systems.

We are a patient-centred practice supported by a highly skilled and welcoming nursing and administrative team. Our nursing team includes an ANP/Nursing Manager who manages acute presentations (including paediatrics) and supports home visits, alongside two prescribing Nurse Practitioners delivering minor ailments and chronic disease management in diabetes and respiratory care. This is complemented by two practice nurses and a Healthcare Assistant, all providing an excellent standard of patient care.

We are well supported by first contact physiotherapy, primary care pharmacists, and the CTAC (Community Treatment and Care) service, which provides additional phlebotomy and treatment room capacity. We also host the Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) within the practice two days per week.

Our appointments are primarily face to face, with GP sessions structured as 10 x 15-minute appointments in both morning and afternoon sessions, incorporating routine, urgent and telephone consultations. Home visits are shared across the GP team.As a long term locum GP, there would be an expectation for you to undertake Docman workflow and on call. Any on call sessions would attract an additional payment.

For informal enquiries or if you would like to arrange a visit to the practice please contact Mrs. Pamela Godfrey, Practice Manager / Associate Partner at pamela.godfrey@nhs.scot
