An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Genetic Technologists to join our expanding All Wales Medical Genomics Service working flexibly for 37.5 hours per week. This is a permanent, full time posts based at Canolfan Iechyd Genomig Cymru (Wales Genomic Health Centre) in Cardiff.

The post holders will perform routine genetic testing using well-established and cutting-edge new technologies and analyses as directed by the Section Lead, responsible Clinical Scientist, or Lead Genetic Technologist. Other routine laboratory tasks may be allocated as necessary.

Essential
- Knowledge of genetics including a range of molecular techniques
- Attention to detail (e.g. demonstrated by good spelling and grammar
- Evidence of supporting colleagues and working in a team
- Adapting to change
- Effective use of time to cover workload
- Evidence of effective communication within a team and department
Experience
Desirable
- Experience of working with clinical samples in a diagnostic laboratory
- Evidence of record keeping and use of e.g. SOPs, databases for COSHH, H&S, CAPA
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience of delivering training to colleagues
Qualifications
Essential
- BSc Hons in Biological / Medical Science (or equivalent)
