Provide senior operational leadership for the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS), supporting the Clinical leaders and Senior Responsible Officer in delivering system objectives. Lead the day‑to‑day management of the LMNS, ensuring effective delivery of agreed priorities, work programmes and transformation initiatives across maternity and neonatal services. Oversee the development, delivery and monitoring of the LMNS annual operational plan, ensuring alignment with national maternity and neonatal policy, local priorities and system strategy. Be accountable for financial management of the LMNS, including budget setting, financial planning, monitoring expenditure, securing value for money and ensuring compliance with financial governance requirements.

Oversee development, delivery and monitoring of LMNS annual operational plan, ensuring alignment with national policy, system strategy and local priorities. Be accountable for LMNS financial management, including budget setting, financial planning, monitoring expenditure and ensuring value for money and compliance with governance requirements. Chair the relevant LMNS operational committee, providing assurance on quality, workforce, finance and delivery risks.
Lead and develop the LMNS programme team, including supervision, appraisal, workforce planning and wellbeing. Manage delivery of complex system‑wide programmes and projects, ensuring robust governance, risk management and reporting.
Build effective relationships with provider trusts, the ICB, commissioners, local authorities, third‑sector partners and regional and national bodies. Ensure appropriate governance and reporting, including preparation of papers for Boards and assurance forums.
Represent the LMNS at senior system, regional and national meetings as required. Ensure equality, diversity, inclusion and population health principles are embedded across LMNS activity, upholding NHS and host organisation values and policies.
