Salaried GP Vacancy

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a salaried GP to join our very friendly and progressive practice. We are a supportive and approachable team of 7 GP partners along with 4 existing salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 2 Practice Nurses and 3 HCAs. We are supported by an excellent Docman/workflow team, dedicated reception, and prescribing team, and are led by a dynamic management team.

North Cardiff Medical Centre is a large practice (list size 15,000+) and we are proud of our good local reputation. We are a training practice as well as teaching medical students. The practice ethos is one of co-operative working and mutual support, aiming to deliver excellent patient care whilst recognising the importance of maintaining a good work/life balance. We offer a good income with generous annual holiday allowance and study leave entitlement.

Main duties of the job

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide clinical services as designated by the Partnership
  • To contribute to the clinical governance agenda of the practice
  • To work with the Partnership to develop clinical services.
  • To participate in Continuing Professional Development and the National Appraisal Programme.
  • To provide, as part of a core multi-disciplinary team, a high quality general medical service to the registered patients of the practice (including temporary residents)
  • To provide consultation and appropriate clinical management of patients attending the practice, or to those where a home visit is clinical
  • To provide telephone and appropriate management of patients who contact the practice, where necessary
  • Assessing, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Reviewing and actioning their allocated pathology and investigation results
  • Reviewing and actioning their allocated pathology and investigation resultsCompleting referrals and associated clinical administration
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS Web.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective and compassionate care.

Essential

  • Experience:
  • Full vocational training in general practice.
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical computer systems-EMIS and Electronic Prescribing
  • Experience working in NHS General Practice
  • Interest in quality improvement and service development

Desirable

  • Experience:
  • Relevant training and accreditation for provision of:
  • Family planning services
  • Child Health Surveillance
  • Minor surgery

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualifications:
  • JCPTGP certification
  • Eligible to be a Principal in General Practice
  • Vocationally Trained
  • GMC registered GP with inclusion on the Performers list
  • Licenced to practice
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General
