Job summary

In Suffolk and North East Essex Service, our Clinical Assessment Service plays a vital role in supporting patients across the regionproviding timely, expert clinical advice and directing them to the most appropriate care pathway. As a General Practitioner, youll be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team working within a telephone and digital triage environment. Youll help ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right timereducing unnecessary hospital visits and improving outcomes across the system. Our OOH service is open from 18.30-08.00 Monday to Friday and 24 hours over the weekend. We can offer a range of sessions to allow you to flexibly choose the right shift pattern for you. Main duties of the job

Delivering remote clinical assessments via telephone and digital platforms for patients with urgent and unscheduled care needs. Making safe, evidence-based decisions to direct patients to appropriate services, including self-care, primary care, urgent treatment centres, or emergency services. Applying advanced clinical knowledge to assess undifferentiated presentations and manage risk effectively. Supporting clinical governance, contributing to service development, and mentoring colleagues. Collaborating with GPs, paramedics, mental health professionals, and other clinicians to ensure integrated care across the region.

About us

Fully qualified General Practitioner with GMC registration and relevant UK licence to practice.

Previous experience working in an Out of Hours setting is essential.

Proven experience using the Adastra clinical system for patient record management.

Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to manage a diverse and often complex caseload.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centred care aligned with Practice Plus Groups values.

Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Live within a 1-hour commute to site in Ipswich
