The post of Fire Safety Officer is now open for applicants. This is an exciting role within the Estates and Facilities Division, reporting to the Health, Safety and Compliance Manager. The main duties of the role are to lead on the management of fire safety and risk assessment, develop the fire safety policy and associated evacuation plans, and develop, schedule and deliver a fire training programme to staff.
The successful applicant would be providing fire safety advice to the QEH, and North Cambs Hospital as well as whole site risk assessment, departmental risk assessments and audits of areas of areas where the QEH staff are working. You would work closely with departments across the Trust, and external fire and safety specialists. You would be the liaison between the Trust and the Fire and Rescue Service, and you would work proactively to manage and reduce the risk of fire. The duties of the role are explained in more detail in the job description. You would be based in Module 3, and professionally accountable to the Director of Estates and Facilities.

To work closely with other specialist in other areas in the provision of risk management approach in meeting agreed Fire Standards
To advise and support manager as part of the overall approach of fire risk reduction in the Trust.
